Basic Drills: 2 Position Snatch

In weightlifting, positioning is everything. You can be the strongest guy in the world but Snatch a lot less than a guy thats half your body weight. Below is one of the fundamental drills we use at Lift Lab to engrain proper positioning at the knee and the high hang position.

It’s very important to drill these positions over and over again. If you achieve these positions during the traditional Snatch (or Clean), your chances of a successful lift are much higher.

At Lift Lab, we use this drill as a main exercise for beginners or as a warm-up drill for intermediate lifters. Try adding these into your training sessions for a few weeks and watch your positioning in your lifts improve!
